The journal “Klinische Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde” was founded in 1863 by Karl Wilhelm von Zehender together with Theodor Sämisch and DOG founder Albrecht von Graefe. The aim was to tailor the content of the journal to the needs of ophthalmologists working in hospitals and clinics. The journal focuses on original and review articles on topics relevant to practice and research in ophthalmology, as well as abstracts of important research findings from international journals. Editorial higlhlights provide an overview of the latest developments in the field, and in each of the 12 issues ophthalmologists will find a quality-assured CME article, allowing readers to earn up to 36 CME credits throughout of the year.
